Accessibility
The clinic is committed to providing service in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
This website
- The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA: semantic headings, keyboard navigation, visible focus, labelled form fields with error messages, sufficient colour contrast and text that scales.
- The forms have no time limit. The referral form and the intake questionnaire keep a draft in the open browser tab so a refresh does not lose your answers; the draft is removed when you submit or close the tab. The intake link stays valid for 14 days.
At the clinic
- Video visits can be joined from any device. Captions can be turned on in most video platforms, and the physician can slow down, repeat or write things down on request.
- Interpreters, including sign language interpreters, can be arranged for visits. Please tell the clinic at intake.
- Written plans and handouts can be provided in larger print or as accessible PDFs on request.
- Support persons and service animals are welcome at in-person visits at partner clinics.
Feedback and requests
To request an accommodation, an alternative format, or to tell the clinic about an accessibility barrier, email referrals@bbdclinic.ca. The clinic responds within 3 business days.
Next steps
Referring a child?
The clinic starts accepting referrals in January 2027. The criteria are published now.
A parent or guardian?
Families cannot refer themselves. Your child's doctor or nurse practitioner decides whether a referral to the clinic is right.
